Screen Printing Process

Step 1:

Separations Are Created

To begin the screen printing process, your art is appropriately sized and separated by color. A film for each color is then printed out.

Step 2:

Screens Are Burned

Films are double checked against original art work, then applied to prepared screens. Screens are then exposed to light to burn the design into the coating.

The screen is then sprayed out to reveal the design

Screens are checked again, prepared and set up on the press.

Step 3:

Preparing Ink Colors

Most projects are custom with their own specific custom colors. In order to match perfectly, colors are mixed to match your specific Pantone color.

Step 4

Printing

Each color has its own screen on its own arm of the press. This example is six colors plus an underbase. When you are printing on any color besides white, you need a base coat of white, in order to keep colors true.

Running the press

Step 5

Drying

Each garment is pulled from the press and run through the dryer to set the ink.
